Sounds~Write, a company which promotes a new methodology for the teaching of reading and writing, needed a website to promote and support their work. The site we developed utilised three separate databases and a custom admin area to allow them to keep the site up-to-date constantly.
One of the key activities Sound~Write engages in is the provision of training events, and these needed to be published on the site, and kept up-to-date. By using a database, we ensured that the site is always current, as past events are automatically hidden from the site, making it easy to read. The aforementioned admin area makes it easy for the client to add new venues and events at any time, with automatic links to MultiMap being generated with no extra work.
The news section is also database-driven, and edited via the admin area, which allows photos to be uploaded and automatically resized. News items are automatically listed by date, and removed automatically once they are no longer current. Both the most current news and event information is displayed automatically on the website's home page, with no extra work from the client, keeping the site fresh and easy to navigate.
